I looked down again at the blue post it note on my dashboard. Rhys drew us a map to get his parent's farm. We had driven clear across the island, from Kona to Hilo, a two hour drive. We were restless. We were lost. I ran out of Haribo letters midway across the island and now I was hungry and bummed.
"We're looking for Mark and Sandy's."
"You're almost there, just a look for the bananas"
Boom. Bananas. There they were. Just to our right. We parked the Jeep just as Sandy walked up from the farm. We had never met. Sandy and her dogs promptly gave Brette and I some cacao and a tour of the land. Lovely. Simple. Warm. I hope to return in March, with some buddies and our bikes.
